Sing!Sing!Sing!
This month, still winter time in NY, I've been enjoying playing for some of NY's finest vocalists.
April 9th, Michelle Walker, who recently moved to big apple from DC, hit at the Zinc bar.
She is soulful and coooool.
April 10th, SOMI had her CD release party at Plumn in 14th street. The place was full of SOMI related people. I expected to see her band members in the house but I couldn't see anyone. So I just got out quickly as soon as I felt lonely..... (Partying and socializing is my weakness I haven't overcome since I move to USA from Japan.) Congrats, SOMI!
Then I went to Dizzy's club to hear Sachal Vasandani and also play for Carolyn Leonhart.
Sachal and his band members are my friends who came to NYC almost same time as I came. It's great to see those cats doing great after all those things they had through.Sachal is a great singer, great composer and has great showmanship. Congrats, Sachal!
Then Carolyn sings this week through Friday. Then I'll play at Dizzy's again for SOMI next Monday.Toru Dodo can play for singers, man.
Maybe I'm getting old,I'm more liking singer's thing more than instrumental thing these days. I've heard that you are really old if you become interested in stones. I'm not interested in stones, yet, just to let you know.
